Delta Upsilon Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity in conjunction with the Trenton NAACP hosted its 2nd Annual Brother Dr. Charles R. Drew Blood Drive at the Ewing Senior Community Center in Ewing, NJ on Saturday, September 27, 2008. image The event was sponsored by the Community Blood Council of New Jersey which provided all medical resources and health information, as well as refreshments and Tee-shirts to every blood donor. Again, Delta Upsilon came out in Force! Photographs were taken by Brother Basileus Charles Davis. The blood drive is named after the late Dr. Charles R. Drew, a brother of Omega Psi Phi fraternity and the father of blood banking. Brother Ronald Williams coordinator of the blood drive stated, “This year’s event was better than last year with the amount of blood donations received this year. imageWe are progressively optimistic in our chapter’s endeavors to aid our community with positive projects such as this that make an impact on our presents within the community.” With sheer pride and accomplishment gleaming from his posture, Brother Williams looks forward to 2009, “We (Delta Upsilon), extend an invitation to the members and their family and friends to join us next year at the Dr. Charles Drew Blood Drive.” Edited by: Brother Earl F.
