Iota Gamma Chapter was chartered on the Trenton State College (The College of New Jersey) campus in 1970. The first pledge line was “The Founding Five” assisted by Dean of Pledges Brother Dennis May from Beta Chapter ‘66, Lincoln University. Iota Gamma Chapter was the first undergraduate historically black Greek letter organization in the State of New Jersey and led the way for the establishment of other undergraduate charters of this type.
